By definition, public space is public, meaning it belongs to everyone. However, that public space is being surrendered, bit by bit, to Apple, Verizon, McDonalds, Toyota, and all the other corporate interests that have a single motive, and that is to burn awareness of their brands into your minds so that you will become a faithful consumer of their products and services. Taking back that public space for everyone means resisting this surrender and fighting those deep-pocketed interests and their government enablers. Then public space can be open to all forms of expression, which is a noble goal and one worth fighting for.
